Has anyone been cut by the poles of the Dora tent?
While I was setting up the tent for my daughter the poles have like a paper of fiber glass that cut my fingers. Right now it feels like my thumb and other finger have tiny crystals stuck in them. Has this happened to anybody? If so I believe this product should be recalled. Please let me know your experiences with the Dora tent. Thanks

OMG!!!!! I bought that stupid tent for xmas too! We just set it up this morning, and its a total piece of flimsy crap! I didnt get cut, but it flung open when i opened the box and hit me in the face, which hurt, pPlus its so flimsy, it hardly stayes up. Im taking it back. Wow what a coincidence!

Charles asks…
Am I allowed to take a tent (including poles and stakes in carry on luggage)?
As I understood it’s mostly up to the airport security rather than airline politics. So I’m interested in general information and also information about airports of Domodedovo (Moscow), Barajas (Madrid) and Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez (Santiago de Chile). Maybe someone has such experience?
Would be very grateful for an answer.

admin answers:
Probably not, unless it’s small enough to fit in the overhead compartment. Plus depending how strict the airport security is, they may consider the stakes and poles as a possible weapon.

I got a 3 room dome tent from a friend (no poles) the name on tent is northern designs by quest serial samt1810?

Taken from a website:
FOR CUSTOMERS WITH A QUEST TENT: We are not the makers of Quest Tents and have never been associated with them. If you are in need of parts or service you can try contacting North Pole USA which is the maker of Quest Tents. The number is 800-775-1965 or 800-366-1599. If you are in need of tent poles and would like aluminum ones we may be able to help but bear in mind that we do not have specs on specific Quest Tent models so we do not know the exact size pole lengths needed for each tent.

James asks…
Where Can I Get A Tent Pole?
I have a Highlander dome tent but one of the pole snapped and I need a new one, I have gone to my local army and navy stores (where I got it). My camping shop, another camping shop but nowhere have them, they need to bend. Anyone nowhere I can get one.
At the moment I am having to use the exterior cover and am hanging it from a tree, not the best idea but it is comfortable.
Anyone no where I can get bendy tent poles for a highlander tent in England?

admin answers:
Lots of camping shops will sell them. Think I saw some in outdoormegastore. You might have to buy a pole longer than you need and cut it down. Attaching the elastics inside is a bit fiddly but possible.
Measure the inside dimensions of the poles and give outdoor shops a phone – there are loads of online stores and these might have them (look under ‘spares’)

Hope that helps.
